Short Feature Narrative
The future is about to collide with the past. Eric, a digital loving executive on a mansion hunting expedition finds himself crossing swords with his realtor, Max, an out of work toon rabbit. Like it or not, Max will make Eric see things through the eyes of an “Animated American.”
Feature-Length Documentary
While 100,000 people (including 1,000s of Buddhist monks) took to the streets to protest the country's repressive regime that has held them hostage for over 40 years, foreign news crews were banned and the Internet was shut down. The Democratic Voice of Burma, a collective of 30 anonymous and underground video journalists (VJs) recorded these historic and dramatic events on handycams and smuggled the footage out of the country, where it was broadcast worldwide via satellite. Risking torture and life imprisonment, the VJs vividly document the brutal clashes with the military and undercover police – even after they themselves become targets of the authorities.

Welcome to The Port Townsend Film Festival 2009!

The Port Townsend Film Institute is organized exclusively as a charitable and educational organization. Our mission is to:

  • Organize and produce periodic film festivals that showcase independent films and filmmakers, and which provide access to such creative activity for the general public;
  • Organize and conduct period classes and seminars which encourage amateur video and filmmakers to work with, and learn from, more experienced artists in their field of interest. This may include training in film theory, camera techniques, recording technology and sound and lighting systems;
  • Sponsor and produce film symposiums featuring amateur filmmakers, with the emphasis on providing creative experience and promoting their films to the general public;
  • Develop an archive of video and film of filmmakers from the Pacific Northwest of the United States. This may be achieved through both the acquisition of existing videos and films and the sponsoring/making of new films.
